Job Summary:
To install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and equipment, with a focus on air compressors, light towers, air dryers, and generators, ensuring reliable performance, safety compliance, and minimal downtime.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Qualified (Red Seal – Section 13).
- 3–5 years’ experience in electrical maintenance and repairs.
- Proven experience working with; Air compressors, Light towers, Air dryers, Generators.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and control panels.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and schematics.
- Experience with fault-finding and diagnostics tools.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Good problem-solving and communication skills.
- Workshop and field-based environments.
- Exposure to noise, machinery, and industrial conditions.
- May require overtime and standby.
- Physically demanding work.
- Fluent in Afrikaans and English.
Key Competencies
- Experience in diesel-powered equipment.
- Knowledge of PLC and control systems.
- Experience in rental or heavy equipment industry.
- Basic mechanical knowledge.
- Computer literacy for reporting and diagnostics systems.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Install, service, and repair electrical components of compressors, generators, light towers, and air dryers.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults efficiently.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance.
- Perform a full spectrum of maintenance tasks, including mechanical, electrical, air dryer, cleaning, pneumatic, hydraulic, PLC, and instrumentation work.
- Ensure all equipment operates safely and efficiently.
- Perform testing and commissioning of equipment.
- Maintain accurate maintenance and service records.
- Respond to breakdowns and urgent repair requests.
- Ensure compliance with safety and electrical standards.
- Assist with site installations and field service work as required.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and spare parts.
