Job Summary:

To diagnose, repair, and maintain electrical systems in vehicles and equipment, ensuring optimal performance, safety compliance, and minimal downtime.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12 / Matric.
  • Trade Test Certificate as an Auto Electrician (preferred).
  • 2–5 years’ experience as an Auto Electrician.
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and components.
  • Experience with diagnostics and fault-finding tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and schematics.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Workshop and field-based environment.
  • Exposure to noise, grease, and machinery.
  • May require overtime or standby.
  • Physically demanding work.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose electrical faults using diagnostic equipment.
  • Repair and maintain vehicle electrical systems (wiring, alternators, starters, batteries).
  • Install electrical components and accessories.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance.
  • Test vehicles to ensure repairs are effective.
  • Maintain accurate service and repair records
  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Assist with breakdowns and emergency repairs.
  • Work on a variety of vehicles.
